Österåker is a conceptual band specializing in producing Swedish indie pop. Their debut and sophomore albums, “Science Can Never Rise” and “Life Before Death,” delve into themes surrounding the human experience. The visual design of these albums incorporates elements of nature, with abstract typography employed to symbolize the complexity and layers of human consciousness.
Alongside the album cover designs, two distinct logos were developed, incorporating the letters from the band's name. These logos are both easily recognizable and commercially viable, as demonstrated in the corresponding apparel design. The apparel mirrors the depth and intricacy found in the album designs, with the image on the reverse side of the hoodie artistically deconstructed and reimagined to resemble a rose, despite its metallic visual aesthetic.
